Pasadena City College Master Plan
AC Martin provided master planning services for a 10-year update of Pasadena City College's Master Plan to the year 2010.
The update provided a blue print of the next increment of the Master Plan for overall development to meet future growth of up to 35,000 students. The update includes new projects including a music and fine arts building, a musical recital hall, structured parking for 1,500 cars, a technology facility, a new student center and entries and landscaping. It also called for the rehabilitation of several 1860's classroom buildings to provide for secondary effects from the planned demolition and new construction.
In addition to the master plan, AC Martin also prepared buildng programs and cost estimates for all of the projects defined in the master plan in aniticipation of seeking voter approbal for a Bond Measure. Working closely with Campus administrators and faculty, the master plan translated the college's Educational Plan into a physical plan for expenditure of a bond program for rehabilitation and new construction. The Bond Measure passed and the campus is successfully implementingn those projects that were clearly defined and costed in the master plan. AC Martin was subsequently selected to design the Music and Fine Arts Building which is currently under construction.
