National Ignition Facility Fusion-Power Breakthrough
Here is an interesting article in the Wall Street Journal about the high level research that is taking place in the AC Martin designed National Ignition Facility at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory.
On February 16th, 2014 the Wilshire Grand Project achieved a Guinness World Record for the largest continuous concrete pour. Over 2,100 trucks poured 42,930 tons of concrete into the foundation of the Wilshire Grand tower.
A new world record was set in downtown Los Angeles as the foundation of the 73-story hotel at Wilshire Grand Center had more than 2,100 truckloads of concrete poured into it. Adrian Arambulo reports for the NBC4 News.
